KTM Duke 250 & RC250 Unveiled ! With 31++ Horsepower Single-Cyl !!

The Austrian Firm, KTM, give us a surprise by introducing their Brand-New 250cc Class, KTM Duke 250 and RC250 at Tokyo Motorshow 2015, which held in Japan. They claimed it, as the strongest 250cc single-cylinder powered engine of all ! Ah, You sure ? So, What kind of its details ?

As we discuss in the previous article : KTM Duke 250 and RC250 Will Soon Launch ? Now, KTM confirmed... Their brand-new engine was clearly a stroke-down of KTM Duke/RC390, Rather Than choosing a rebored version from 200cc Duke/RC engine.

The engine details is single-cylinder, 250cc, 4 stroke DOHC 4-Valve, Liquid cooled, plus equipped with Nikasil coated cylinder material. KTM claims his 250cc engine is very light and powerful... Because its only weight about 37,2kg, and can reach maximum power up to 31.3 PS @ 9.000 RPM with a maximum torque of 24 N.m @ 7250 RPM. Hell yeah, A shocking power for that Japanese 250 !

Power-to-Weight-Ratio of this brand new KTM-Duo is Awesome. Why ? Because Duke 250, weigh only just 139 kg... While the Sportbike version, RC250, has weight of 147 kg. Just calculate that PTWR, and compare it with the Japanese 250.... KTM itself confirms, RC250 formulated to resist Honda CBR250, Kawasaki Ninja 250SL, and also Yamaha R25.

Meanwhile, Duke 250 will be apple-to-apple, when compared with the other 250cc naked, such as Honda CB250F & Kawasaki Z250SL. The design itself will be the same, with their elder brother KTM/RC 200 & 390. Then, How about the price ? We'll have to wait, because KTM not yet to unveil the Duke/RC250 prices. But, Because it was totally made-in-india, So the price will be cheaper... I Think...
